Throw-out Thursday

Hi everyone!

Today on Lady Code, we are starting something new, Throw-out Thursday. As some of you may know, I am currently Miss United States Teen Earth Florida and although it’s challenging I try to live an Eco-friendly lifestyle every day.

I recently read an educational article that lists 10 toxic household materials. On the top of the list: soft plastic containers. When these are heated up, whether it is in the dishwasher or microwave, these plastic containers emit a chemical known as BPA (bisphenol A), which link to receptor sites and cause diseases.

How can we avoid this problem? Switch to glass containers or BPA-free plastic containers. In the meantime, check the recycling code one the bottom of the container for the proper way of disposing them.
