My Makeup Secret

Being a pageant queen, having done some modeling, and always making appearances…one would think that I am great and getting dressed quickly and a pro at makeup. Well, I am ashamed to admit it, but I am no where close. Thankfully, I have been blessed with the opportunity to be around some of the most amazing makeup artists there are, and have learned quite a few tips and tricks over time.

One thing that I am always asked is, “How does your makeup stay on for so long?” In fact, I use to look at models and wonder the same thing myself. Depending on who you ask, some makeup artists say it’s the makeup you use and I would agree with that to an extent, but I have learned that beyond setting powder, using a setting spray is a life-saver!

In the past, many people have used hairspray as a setting spray. I get a little worried about this as I feel it would clog pores and make me break-out. And there are so many setting sprays on the market so it’s a little hard to choose. But I have fallen in love with the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray!

I found this bottle at Sephora one day after looking at the many different types that are out there. I decided to try this one since the bottle actually states that it will help makeup stay on for up to 16 hours. And for merely $29, I figured it was worth a shot. Well, I would pretty much have to agree with that statement. No matter how light or heavy the makeup you are wearing, a few mists of the spray will help lock it into place.

In fact, the other day I was out with a friend shopping, eating outside in the sweltering Florida sun, and she actually asked why my makeup still looked so good.. it was an amazing compliment since I was so proud of the fact that all I did was spray my face a few times before walking out the door.
