Care for your hair

Regardless if you are passionate about hair and being super trendy when it comes to your style, we all know that us girls like long, healthy hair. Yes, taking external care of your hair is important and being updated to the latest techniques and products to buy/use. However, the bigger portion and most important aspect comes from the inside, the alimentation you have.  Many of us, complain when we don’t notice the immediate results that we work so hard for. Every wondered that it all starts with your diet?

I have always wanted to grow my hair long and respectively once it was long to maintain it healthy. To speed up the process I got caught up  on the external aspects of it such as the products that would protect it and taking vitamins that would be high in biotin, which I would hope to increase my hair growth per month significantly. The vitamins did not satisfy me, as I did not notice results. I have recently incorporated in my diet 9 aliments, that have been proven to maintain hair healthy, strong, and luscious.

  • Sweet Potatoes

Not only are they excellent antioxidants, sweet potatoes contain beta carotin, which our body transforms into Vitamin A.  If our bodies lack Vitamin A, this can lead to dandruff, which of course is an unpleasant condition.

  • Eggs

Eggs are an excellent protein source! 🙂 One important ingredient for hair that eggs contain is iron, which helps cells cary oxygen to the hair follicle. When our body lacks iron, this causes anemia, which causes hair to fall. This is a major cause for hair loss.

  • Spinach

Spinach contains iron and Vitamin C, this helps and focuses on maintaining your hair strands strong and thicker. It also maintains your scalp healthy. I know that some don’t like spinach…. its not the most tasteful thing, but you can substitute it with broccoli or kale.

  • Salmon

High in proteins, Vitamin D, and Omega 3, which are essential elements for hair’s health. Omega 3 is a greasy acid which your body needs, especially for hair’s health. You can also find this in herring, sardines, and avocado.

  • Nuts

They contain biotin and Vitamin E which help hair tremendously. Biotin helps prevent hair loss as well as enhances growth.  As weird as it sounds, nuts contain copper, which helps maintain your hair color luminous.

  • Oysters

Rich in zinc! 🙂 Without zinc hair gets dry, falls, and split ends are more prominent. It is a good protein intake for our body, which is essential for hair. Protein is what makes hair strong and prevents it from breaking easily.

  • Yogurt

Contains Vitamin B5, it is very beneficial for hair’s health. It also contains Vitamin D, which according to studies is essential and plays a primal role in hair’s health.

  • Blueberries

Although they contain many nutrients beneficial for our bodies, they are high in Vitamin C. If our body lacks Vitamin C, this causes hair loss, and thinning of the hair. If you don’t like blueberries, you can try kiwi, strawberries, and tomatoes.

  • Lentils

This is my least favorite one 😦 however it is high in protein, iron, zinc, and biotin. It is such a complex aliment that helps maintain hair healthy.

It can be difficult to stick to a specific diet! Some may have hectic schedules while others may not like some of the aliments mentioned above. For others the Vitamin Pills that are high in Biotin have worked and a diet may not seem like a necessity. However, it is the healthiest and most recommended way to take care of your hair!….And whenever you want to cheat on your intake of these aliments, just remember how beautiful your hair will be and think of the result! 🙂
