HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR PAGEANT APPOINTMENT WITH BEAUTY BY LADYCODE

You have your appointment booked with the Lady Code Beauty Team for your special event, and now you’re wondering, should I wash my hair right before my appointment? What do I wear?…This article is here to make you feel 100% ready for glam sesh with LadyCode!

BOOKING YOUR APPOINTMENT:

Our new client registration form allows us to learn more about your and your hair and makeup goals for your event. Please make sure you share with us your skin concerns, any cosmetic allergies or sensitivities, and inspiration photos so that we can prepare for your appointment accordingly.

SAFETY:

All of our artists are Barbicide COVID-19 Certified, which means they have been trained and examined for the best and safest practices. Our rooms are socially distanced, all tools and products are sanitized between each client (as always!), and our artists wear masks for the entire duration of your appointment. You will have your temperature checked at check in each day, and sanitizer is readily available for complimentary use.

You may purchase your own SNATCHED Face palette, lip products, and brush set on site if you would like to bring your own products. The SNATCHED Palette has all the colors needed for a full face of makeup with eyeshadow, blush, highlight, bronzer, contour, and shimmer. Our entire team uses The LadyCode Shop products so they will be happy to use your personal SNATCHED Face Palette and brushes instead of the one from their kit. Please ask about purchasing your own palette at check in after getting your temperature taken.

TOUCH UPS:

To promote social distancing during touch up windows, we will have touch up kits available for purchase. Each touch up kit comes with a full size setting powder with a mirror and velour applicator, and a full size gloss shade of your choice. If you purchased a touch up, you can opt out and get a touch up kit instead.

LOCATION:

Beauty by LadyCode primarily services beauty pageants and we are always on-site, so we are nothing but a quick elevator ride from you. If we are not providing services in a designated ballroom space, we are in a beauty suite in the host hotel or backstage during a competition. Room numbers and ballroom names are shared with you via your email address provided at booking. When in doubt, contact LadyCode.

SKIN PREP:

Please arrive with clean, dry skin. You may wear a light moisturizer if you have dry skin. If you are “picky” about your eyebrows, you may arrive with your eyebrows filled in. We are picky about eyebrows too and we always create the perfect brow for your face shape, but we know that brows can be something personal and we want you to feel 100% confident in your glam!

We strongly recommend getting your eyebrows/upper lip professionally waxed or threaded 1 week before your event.

HAIR PREP:

Please wash hair the night before, not day of your appointment. You must arrive with completely dry hair that is ready for styling.

WHAT TO WEAR: 

Our in-house photographer, Franz Orban will be on site taking professional photos of all of our work. To get the best photos, please wear a strapless top, tank top, or something to change into for your glamshots. The open shoulder tops are also the best to make sure the makeup seamlessly blends into your body. If you run cold, you can bring a robe or zip up top to wear over your top. If you would like professional edits, you may talk to Franz Orban about purchasing your glamshot. Although we are extremely careful with our makeup applications, setting powder can sometimes settle in on your outfit. Clothing with tight necklines are not recommended to ensure your hair and makeup does not get ruined in the process of changing into your final outfits.
