LadyCode is no stranger to the Kardashian/Jenner clan’s famous makeup artist, Ariel Tejada. When Ariel announced that he would be going live on his TikTok for a full makeup tutorial, of course we tuned in–ready to take notes.
Ariel has struggled with acne in the past and used Accutane to get rid of his acne. Due to the complexity of his skincare routine, he said he already did it off camera and wouldn’t bore us with the details of his “12 step” skin prep routine.
Ariel used a combination of NARS radiant creamy concealer in shades Ginger and Tiramisu for highlighting and prepping lids for makeup.
For foundation, Ariel mixes two of LadyCode’s favorite foundations: Kevyn Aucoin sensual skin enhancer in shade 11 and NARS Light reflecting foundation. Tejada did not disclose the shade he used for NARS foundation but if we had to guess, it would be Vienna or Barcelona. We’ve tried both foundation products on our channel and they are 100% #LadyCodeApproved.
Ariel’s go-to bronzer is the Rare Beauty cream bronzer in the shade Always Sunny. After hearing him rave about this smooth application, we immediately added it to the cart.
One powder is not enough for this makeup genius: Ariel used 3 different powders for different purposes. First, he used ONE/SIZE Turn Up the Base pressed powder in Medium 5 to set all areas he highlighted. After that, he baked with Laura Mercier translucent loose powder. After glam, he added Mac Studio Fix NW 42 to brighten his under eyes a little more. Our Laura Mercier alternative favorite is the Resting Bake Face translucent powder. This setting powder has a babysoft formula that melts into your skin for a flawless finish. #nofilter
Ariel’s go to brush is Sephora’s colorful face powder in the shade Flirt It Up. Our recommendation is the shade fillers from the SNATCHED Palette- we love this palette because it has a blush, highlight, bronzer, and pressed balancing powder included in the palette. Did we mention the color payoff and formula is unmatched?
Ariel did Kim Kardashian’s makeup earlier that day and said he loved the combo he did on her, so he recreated the lip on himself. First, he lined the lips with KKW Beauty’s Classic Kim lip liner. Unfortunately, this lip liner is no longer available but we did the research and found the perfect KKW Lip Liner dupe. Ariel added the two lightest nude colors from Makeup by Mario’s lip palette and blended it all out with the Dior Lip Glow in shade 001.
Ariel used the $36 Surratt Beauty Relevee lash curler and then applied Kosas Mascara. We went to add the Kosas Mascara to the cart but them removed it due to its questionable reviews. In the live, Ariel talked about how mascara doesn’t really matter as long as you apply enough coats, so we passed on the mascara.
Describing it himself as “Old School,” Ariel used Anastasia Beverly Hills So Hollywood pressed highlighter, which is also unfortunately discontinued. Of course we did find the perfect dupe for that as well – Try the RICH Pressed Highlighter in shade Rose or Goddess for the perfect match.
All of the brushed Ariel used were from his Morphe x Ariel brush collection. Yes, we’re so obsessed we own two full sets.
