Ecuadorian native Andrea Vasquez is taking over the fashion world, one Pink Girl at a time. Her Miami based business, Pinkapple Dresses, is one of Miami’s hottest labels and is the go-to brand for TV stars, beauty queens, and celebrities worldwide. Currently, Andrea is getting ready to take her business to the next level by opening her very first store in South Florida’s elite Ocean Drive.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in business and how have you overcome them?
The biggest challenge for me has always been to operate my own business and finding the right balance with my family life. It personally helped me a lot to set up a fix schedule and always save some time for my husband and children.
What can the public do to support equality in business leadership?
I believe that one always has to chose the right words, show respect to successful women and be objective. Always watch out for indirect discrimination. The public should create a culture of fairness and inclusion.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life that has inspired you to see that women DO belong in leadership positions?
Definitely my mother. She was one of the leading teachers in her college and was always involved in her communities. Thanks to her I learnt to be a hard working woman,
What sets you and your business apart?
For sure my customer service. I always reply to inquiries in a quick manner and I am always very transparent.
What is one piece of advice you would like to share with other female entrepreneurs?
Never give up! There will be moments where you will fall and things are not going in your favor but consistency is really the key.
What projects are you working on right now?
Opening my first physical showroom in Miami
Where do you see your business in 5 years?
With more showrooms within the US and Outside the US
