Monday in Monochrome

I’ve been really into makeup lately. It started with my eyeshadow obsession when I was in high school, and now I’m branching out into lashes, eyebrows, contouring, and lips. Basically the whole 9 yards (and then like 80 more yards). My bank account probably hates me but I seriously enjoy getting creative with my face, and a great makeup application makes me feel like a million bucks so it’s worth it! If you’ve done anything on Instagram lately you’ve probably seen girls going crazy over brown lipstick. My current lip obsession is Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Requiem-Soft Lilac. I’m not wearing it here but I did wear it yesterday and blog about it. It’s a mauve-ey purple-ey light color of pure perfection. You can see that look here. Anyyyyhooo, back to the brown lip. I’m magnetically attracted to the MAC store and if I’m like within a mile radius of MAC store I end up going there and buying something. Yesterday, I was on a mission to get a good, brown lipstick so I got the MAC Matte Lipstick in Stone yes, this is a MUST have for fall, and the MAC Lip Pencil in Plum. I got the plum liner because I’m really obsessed with mauve tones right now, and it’s great to bring the 90’s back and everything but you always have to add a twist to any comeback trend.

I was super excited about my new liner/lipstick so I dug deeeep into my closet to create a look around the bold lip. This was totally unplanned but my outfit ended up being totally monochrome, gray tones with gold accents. Whatever, it goes perfectly with the lip and gloomy weather right? 🙂
