Stop searching and enjoy the present moment

Sometimes our lives can be quite hectic. If you live in a big city that can contribute to it along with the busy streets filled with cars and people. Our jobs, responsibilities, hobbies, can all contribute towards making our life more or less chaotic. However, in the end it all resumes to one thing: Your Choice!

The past couple of months were insane for me. I spent my time running from place to place, always working and ultimately I forgot to live. If I was to take a look at my life I couldn’t say that I recall any enjoyable memories.

As time passed on I read a book that significantly impacted my life: The Power of Now.  Slowly, I started applying some of the lessons learned from the book to my everyday life. I started living more in the present moment, focusing on myself, and not rushing towards doing the next thing! This helped me out enjoy my day more, however something was still missing….then it finally dawned on me and I learned something about myself that  I wasn’t expecting to.

I had spent a big portion of my life searching for something…that something I still don’t know what it is. However, I realized that I was always spending my time waiting for the next thing instead of enjoying what I had. I always wanted something else, when I would get that “something”, I would no longer feel happy or satisfied and I would work hard towards getting the next thing. In the end I realized that I missed the essence, I was missing out on my own life and enjoying it.

This was a big eye opener for me and I learned that I should cherish the now, enjoy the process, and go with the flow, instead of always looking in the future for “that one thing to happen” that might not even be attained. You don’t want to end up looking back at your life with regret that you forgot to live because you were too busy waiting!

Life is meant to be lived happily and beautifully, therefore the most important thing is to enjoy the present moment and the process of life. If you don’t like your circumstances it is up to you to change them. Little by little things can be done towards improving a particular situation you are in.

In the end most importantly, always stay optimistic and laugh as much as you can (I am one of those people that laugh at anything)!

Remember to enjoy the beautiful life you have ❤
