Among the many products that I have tried for my skin, Elizabeth Arden has always provided the best results. Lately I have had a lot of problems with my skin due to stress, lack of sleep, and external pollutants. I started analyzing my beauty routine and realized that maybe I was using the wrong blend of products. I was mixing many brands (had a face wash by one brand, then my moisturizer was a different one, so was my serum, and so on…). I decided the best thing was to strip everything off and start at the basics: reevaluate the type of skin that I have.

After consulting with three estheticians, we determined that my skin was on the normal to oily side. Whenever choosing any skincare product, the most important thing is to determine the type of skin you have. If you have oily skin but you use products for dry skin, ultimately your skin will produce more oil. If you have dry skin but use products for oily, your skin will be even more dehydrated.

Once you determine the type of skin that you have you can then choose the right products. As I was all over the place, with so many brands that each had a different philosophy and when intertwined some of their ingredients did not get along so well together, I was told it was best to stick to just one brand to make everything simple.

I have used Elizabeth Arden in the past and was pleased with the results. One of the products I started out with was the Visible Difference Moisturizing Eye Cream. This product was light, gentle on the sensitive eye area, yet very moisturizing.

Together with my esthetician, we choose the products that I needed for my skin routine. She did mention to me: “You know Stefania, less is more – the simpler your routine the better your skin. You don’t want to overdo it”.

She was completely right, so here is what we decided on:

All Gone Eye and Lip Makeup Remover – Easily and gently removes all makeup from the eye and lip area even if it is waterproof. It can be applied and smoothed on with a cotton pad. This is more gentle on your skin rather than the harsh, chemically infused makeup remover wipes.

Visible Difference Skin Balancing Exfoliating Cleanser – This foaming cleanser and exfoliator is perfect for combination skin as it gently lifts away impurities. Ultimately the goal for me was to leave my skin feeling healthy and balanced. The previous cleanser that I was using was in form of a foaming gel that was very heavy for my skin type, which ultimately cause it to break out.

Ceramide Purifying Toner – I did write in the past about Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide line (http://ladycodeblog.com/2014/02/03/discover-elizabeth-ardens-ceramide-line/), which is absolutely amazing. Out of their toners this one is the most suitable for my skin as it is purifying and light. I apply it on my skin with a cotton pad to gently sweep away any impurities. Recently I found out that the toner is one of the most important products in your skincare routine.

Prevage anti-aging daily serum – it is never too early to use anti-aging products. After my face is cleansed I apply the serum and massage lightly. This serum also gives a plumping, luminous effect with use.

Visible Difference Moisturizing Eye Cream – Very light, hydrating formula, I apply to the eye area and massage upward in a circular motion.

Flawless Future Powered by Ceramide Moisture Cream – This skincare cream is a blend of barrier supporting Ceramides, protective protein complex, and skincare brighteners which help intercept aging signs. This helps keep your skin moisturized and stress free. It is a lightweight formula that smooths pores and minimizes the appearance of blemishes and discolorations. Leaves skin looking smooth, supple, and more toned.

Your skincare routine is key for your skin looking flawless. It is important to invest in it for you to have the desired results. Having a good makeup routine is just as important, however you cannot overlook this foremost, basic step.

Along with your skincare routine is very important to use the right foundation. Again there are different foundations for different types of skin. As I wanted to stick to the same brand, I am using the Elizabeth Arden Intervene. I love it because it offers the coverage that I need, yet is not heavy on my skin.
