TIS THE SEASON… FOR GREAT HAIR!

Sarah DuFrane expert in the hair and beauty industry shares with us few secrets on what products you need to have beautiful, flawless hair.

GOOD HAIR ISN’T CHEAP AND CHEAP HAIR ISN’T GOOD

For most of us ladies, our hair is everything. It makes or breaks us. It defines who we are. We bring cut out pictures of celebrities to the salon in hopes of walking out looking like them. We are constantly pinteresting and youtubing our way to better hair days. But sometimes, we just can’t get it! I’ll let you in on a little secret… your hair will only be as good as your at-home hair care. Though with so many options, how does one choose the best? Lucky for you, I’ve created a list of my 7 MUST HAVE products and tools (just in time for Christmas!)

1. Kerastase Elixir Ultime:

Argan oils are HUGE right now due to their repairing properties for even the most damaged hair. With Elixir Ultime, there are 4 different types of oils to target specific hair issues. It’s a miracle product with a multitude of uses. It protects hair from heat damage and leaves even the most torched hair soft to the touch. TIP: Put a pump in before you blow-dry and then another pump smoothed through the ends before you flat iron. If your hair is feeling extra dry and tangled, put 2 pumps through the ends of your hair the night before you’re going to wash as a leave-in nighttime treatment. You can put a pump in after you’ve finished styling your hair to calm down frizz and smooth your hair to perfection.

2.  Hairspray:

Unfortunately, I can’t choose just one! Hairspray is my favorite product and it is a MUST HAVE for every one. My top 3 favorite hairsprays are: (1) TIGI Hair Reborn Flexible Finishing Hairspray, (2) Moroccan Oil Luminous Medium Hairspray, (3) Kerastase Lacque Couture Hairspray. They are all flexible hold hairsprays to lock in your perfect hairstyle without feeling sticky and “like hairspray.” They also smell amazing… WIN!

 3. GHD Flat Iron:

GHD stands for Great Hair Days. How could you go wrong with that?! GHD is by far the best flat iron I’ve ever used. I bought my first GHD when I first started out in the business and haven’t strayed since. 100% Ceramic plates (not ceramic coated, BIG difference) which protects hair from extreme heat damage, Auto turn off (just in case you forget to turn it off), contoured plates for perfect curls without snagging, sensors keep the heat consistent instead of continuously heating which can cause hair to feel dry and brittle. Ladies, Santa has enough room in his bag to bring you one this Christmas. P.S. they just came out with their Limited Edition holiday irons… I already bought mine in Amethyst 😉

4.  Bed Head by TIGI – Oh Bee Hive Dry Shampoo

Not just a dry shampoo but a texture product as well! It freshens up oily roots on that second day and adds lift to limp hair to give it some oomph. TIP: My favorite way to use it is after I’ve styled my hair, I flip my head over, shake and spritz for added texture and separation with light hold. For all my fellow fine haired friends, spritz at roots on styled hair for added lift and grip.

5. Urban Antidotes Recovery by TIGI

If you’re looking for the best hydrating shampoo/conditioner without breaking the bank, look no further than Urban Antidotes Recovery! Its excellent hydrating properties leave your dry, damaged tresses feeling soft while it simultaneously combats split ends. It smells yummy enough to eat (and ladies, the men LOVE it) and fits into the top ramen budget. TIP: to get an extra boost of moisture, leave it on washed, towel dried hair over night and simply rinse in the morning.

6. Super Salono Blow Dryer-

Before you invest in high end designer haircare, think about switching to salon quality tools first. Cheap blow dryers use metal coils to heat the air which cause excessive heat damage. Also, they’re not fast which means longer drying times which means more damage. The Super Salono is ceramic to distribute heat evenly to hair and heat the hair from the inside out, creating shiny smooth dry hair without damage. Because it is salon grade, it will cut your blowdry time in half and make less work for you (but better results!!) when getting ready. Your tools are foundation to great hair days. You wouldn’t build a magnificent house on a crappy foundation… it’s bound to crumble at some point.

7. Root Boost – Catwalk by TIGI

You know those Pantene Pro-V commercials where the girls step off the curb and flip their beautiful, bouncy hair around? Well, I guarantee you Pantene won’t get you that hair but TIGI root boost will! It provides ultimate lift and volume to give you that va va voom. TIP: Spritz at the roots and mush through the lengths to help plump up fine, limp ends. Flip head over and blow-dry, concentrating on roots and midlengths, until about 80% dry then shape and smooth ends with a round brush.
