The classy, elegant, and sophisticated dress that will turn eyes and enhance your figure. Yes, the little black cocktail dress has been around for quite a while. Its style is timeless: our mothers have worn it to cocktail parties, older sisters have worn it on special occasions, and now its your turn!
Fashion fades, only style remains the same
– Coco Chanel
The “little black dress” was introduced by Coco Chanel, it was her contribution to the fashion lexicon, and it is still popular today. The first dress was made out of silk, crèpe de chine, and had long sleeves (I tried imitating this with my dress, as you can see in the pictures). According to Vogue the dress would become a uniform for all women of taste.
In my case, I had a photo-shoot where the photographer requested a vintage outfit.
What to do? What to do?
After many hours of looking through my closet and trying on clothes, nothing seemed to satisfy me enough. I tried skirts, pants with retro tops, even blazers or vests. Right before I decided to give up, I found this black dress. The material is very light and it fits tightly on the body. The sleeves are tight and transparent giving it a very elegant look. I tried it on and decided to pair it up with a scarf that accentuated my look and made it more 50’s. I also added a black lace top thigh-high with back seam. As for shoes, I decided to go with the strappy, nude heels but black heels would be appropriate for the outfit as well. A very Audrey Hepburn look…
The Little Black Dress is elegant and appropriate for a night out, a date, an event, cocktail party, etc. Its style is versatile and timeless, ensuring that you always look sophisticated and classy.
