Love Fashion? Here Is How To Keep Up.

Dear Lady Code,

Fashion is a fast-paced industry. From red carpets to breaking fashion collaborations to events, don’t fall behind on the news! Here are 5 must reads to ensure that you know everything there is to know about the world of glitz and glamour.

1. Business of Fashion

Otherwise known as BoF, Business of Fashion is founded by Imran Amed and is based in London. However, BoF is a one stop shop where you can find interviews with industry leaders, stimulating op-eds on current issues, search for careers on BoF careers and learn about the global industry. The online platform has a unique and intelligent perspective on the fashion industry and is an absolute must read for those interested in issues surrounding the fashion world that are beyond what color is in this season. Earlier this year, BoF also released a print issue titled the company and culture issue which is full of great reads. We are very impressed!

2. Fashionista.com

Fashionista.com is based in New York and covers everything from beauty, style, fashion week to breaking news. The content has a more relaxed, peer to peer tone as compared to BoF and is an easy read during lunch breaks or coffee runs. Fashionista.com also hosts a ‘How To Make It In Fashion’ conference annually where you can meet designers, editors, bloggers, PR mavens among many others. This year’s conference is on Friday, June 27 and among the confirmed speakers include EIC of Teen Vogue, Amy Astley, EIC of Elle, Robbie Meyers, designer Mischa Nonoo among many others. Don’t miss it!

3. Vogue

Alas, the fashion bible. If you are looking for an authoritative source in fashion and culture, look no further. Aside from the monthly magazine, Vogue.com has updated content every day to satisfy your thirst for information. In addition, there is also the Vogue video channel if you still can’t get enough. The beautiful editorials and fascinating features never fail to whisk us away to a fantastical world where Chanel and Dior reign. Need we say more?

4. Porter Magazine

Porter magazine is for the strong, independent woman of the 21st century. She is a world traveler, a mother, a wife, a fashionista, a career oriented woman, a stylish woman, she is all of the above. From intimate celebrity interviews to style advice from the greatest minds in fashion, it is like no other. The best part? If you see something you like, with a touch of the screen, you will be diverted to it’s parent company’s site, Net-A-Porter.com to purchase the piece. It takes seamless to a whole new level. Can’t get enough? Look to Net-A-Porter’s ‘The Edit’ for weekly content.

5. Women’s Wear Daily

Last but certainly not least is of course, Women’s Wear Daily. For breaking news and a recap of events, fashion week, red carpets, media shakeups, and everything else in between, there is none other than the daily newspaper devoted to fashion and retail. For any aspiring fashionista, WWD should be the first thing you pick up in the morning to ensure that you are informed and knowledgable on the industry.
