Travel Diary: Las Vegas for Miss Universe

Hello Lady Code!

I’m writing this as I’m preparing to head off to New York City to be reunited with Emilyn (YAY!). I was so lucky to go to Vegas last week to cover the Mac Duggal Miss Universe Party for PageantLIVE! I was so happy to spend the weekend with my PageantLIVE family, Pam, Paige, and Stayc!

I’ve been trying to VLOG while traveling for the Lady Code YouTube channel, because I feel like it’s more fun and personal to join me in my travel videos!

I got in at night so Pam and I went to dinner at Caesar’s Palace! It was so glam. The last time I went to Vegas was when I was about 10 years old, so it’s a completely different experience going when you are 24! I loved it and the bright city lights are always breathtaking. The next morning, PageantLIVE correspondent Stayc Simpson and I got ready and went over to Planet Hollywood to cover the Miss Universe rehearsals. All of the girls were busy rehearsing but we did get a chance to catch Grace Levy, Miss Great Britain Universe 2014 and the founder of the London School of Pageantry for a quick PageantLIVE interview!

The next evening was the big night of the Mac Duggal event! There were so many beauty queens and pageantry VIPs, Paige, Stayc and I all hosted on the red carpet and we still didn’t get a chance to catch all of the VIPs for their PageantLIVE interviews. We did get to interview Nia Sanchez, Miss USA 2014 and Mac Duggal of course!

My dress is from Mac Duggal and my shoes are Chinese Laundry! Watch one of my favorite interviews with Miss Florida USA, Brie Gabrielle- she was a former victim of bullying and now she’s using her title to make a difference:

On our last day in Vegas, Pam, Paige, and I went to Red Rock Canyon-a desert canyon about 30 minutes out of the city. It was so cold (who knew it gets cold in the desert?), but we toughed it out for the photos 🙂
