As we all know, fashion is constantly changing and every detail matters. Whether you are a trend setter or just keeping up with what’s in style, no one wants to be outdated and live in the past. Along with knowing what colors and designs are appropriate for the season, you also have to be on point with accessories such as jewelry, handbags, and shoes.
As you look in the mirror you notice that you are wearing a beautiful dress in the color of the season, with the perfect shoes and handbag to go with it. That gold bracelet with those elegant earrings add the last touch in completing your outfit and you are ready to go…..BUT wait!
Keeping up with hair trends is just as important! Don’t let your hair be boring this spring and summer! Knowing what trends are popular will always be an advantage, as it will make you stand out and turn eyes at every occasion. Let’s find out what are the new hair styling trends for spring-summer 2014!
- Pin Straight Hair
Straight hair has been around for a while, and the flat iron has been one of our best friends for many years. However, this spring-summer season, very straight hair is in, yes straighter than before. If before straight hair had some movement, or volume, now pin straight hair is in. No volume, no movement, just pin straight! After blow drying, you can flat iron and along with styling products of your choice that are specifically created for straight hair, you can achieve that effect.
- Low-Ponytail (Straight)
A popular styling trend in 2014 is the low-ponytail that is very straight and luscious. Again, this would be a style that would require no volume. The hair would be flat ironed and tied in a low ponytail at the base of your neck. In order to receive the luscious effect to your hair, you can either use shine sprays or hair oil, depending on hair texture and preference.
- Chopped Bob
The bob haircut was trending a few years ago, and just when we thought that the style was out, the cut was reinvented! The chopped, asymmetric, messy bob is in this season. The more asymmetric and messy the cut the better. This boyish hairstyle is very daring.
- Mixed Textures
This recent trend is very unique but it has been rising rapidly. What started out as a popular style in several fashion shows became more and more common everywhere else. In order to achieve the style, hairstylists created a combination of wet/dry hair. As weird as it may sound, in order to achieve this look, the hair on top of your head is very straight and the products used will give it the “stuck to your scalp, wet look”, giving the impression of wet hair, while the rest of your hair from the ears down will flow naturally.
- Pin-up curls with side part
Pin-up curls (70s style) with an extreme side part offering an asymmetric effect are popular this spring-summer season. This bold style is very unique and daring. The style can be achieve generally on shorter length hair, and the focus is not so much on having the perfect curls, as it is on the extreme side part. The messier and more natural the curls are the better the look.
- Messy Braids
Braids have always been popular hair trends, however this season we are doing things a little differently. The messier the better! In order to achieve the style, the hair has to have that messy, un-brushed look. Tease the hair prior to styling to give it that messy effect. The braid itself will be perfectly executed however the lose pieces and the teased hair will give it that natural flawless beauty effect.
- Styles with flowers
This hairstyle is very feminine and romantic. You can choose to either to a lose curl up-do, half-up half-down, or leave all of your hair down, flowers are a popular accessory in 2014! The secret of this style is for the hair to look natural and flawless. Beach waves are recommended most, where the hair is still natural, yet messy and with the flowers added, will make you look delicate and feminine.
- Covered
This spring-summer season accessories are very popular, the more you accessorize the better. You can accessorize your hairstyle by adding a light scarf. This style is very chic and elegant. It also helps for the days when you do not feel like going the extra length and doing a lot with your hair.
Very good post. I’m experiencing many of these issues as well..
